Modified Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index: spatiotemporal analysis of drought

Drought monitoring is a complicated issue as it requires multiple meteorological variables to monitor and anticipate drought accurately. Therefore, developing method that enables researchers, data scientists, planners comprehend mitigation policies more accurately essential. In this research, based on the concepts behind calculation of Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), new index proposed for regional monitoring: Modified (MSPEI). The potential estimation Reference (ETo). Hargreaves-Samani (MHS) equation fuzzy logic calibration used estimate ETo. validated ten stations in Pakistan at one-month time scale. Afterward, Pearson correlation, performance compared with commonly (SPEI). Results showed significant correlation (r > 0.7) between quantitative values MSPEI SPEI all stations. Moreover, modified Tjostheims coefficient test spatial different classes. According our findings, association SW, ND, ED, EW, MW, SD patterns SPI 0.74, 0.834, 0.673, 0.592, 0.393, 0.434, respectively.
